The Icebox, Atlanta, GA

Creative Director, June 2002 – March 2012

In 2002, I moved from Gagwear to The Icebox. I was hired as the single designer for the budding company where previously, I was a member of a four person design team. I quickly learned to rely on my abilities and instincts, to solely fulfill the company’s design needs.

In 2007, The Icebox merged with its former parent company, Gagwear. We acquired many of their design staff and with it the pangs that come with a growth spurt. From being a single designer, I once again was part of a design team but this time I was the supervisor. I faced the challenge of managing work schedules, personalities and priorities. Through my hard work and the hard work of my team, our design department became known as the group that management could rely on consistently.

  • Successfully managed, trained, and motivated a staff of three full time artists as well as several freelance artists
  • Worked directly with the Marketing Director and Web Master to keep branding uniform across several avenues
  • Created print and digital catalogs for our company and our customers on a quarterly basis
  • Worked with the sales team and their clients to meet their promotional design needs
  • Created four color process, simulated process, and spot color garment separations
